Biography

Shawn Geib is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC), managed and operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T). With nearly 7,000 employees in Kansas City, Missouri, and Albuquerque, New Mexico, KCNSC provides national security support through its diverse engineering, manufacturing and secure supply chain management activities.

As CISO, Shawn leads a multidisciplinary cybersecurity team responsible for everything from incident response and data‑privacy governance to the development of policies that protect enterprise communications, systems and assets against internal and external threats. Under his direction, the team continuously assesses risk, implements proactive defenses and neutralizes threats to ensure the resilience of the campus’s critical infrastructure.

With almost 30 years of experience spanning both physical and cyber security, Shawn joined KCNSC in 2008 as a Security Officer. He has since progressed through senior roles — including Senior Security Manager and Director of Security — before assuming the CISO position. In each capacity, he has designed, executed and overseen comprehensive security programs that protect personnel, facilities and materials from a full spectrum of hazards, ranging from minor incidents to major events. His leadership has been pivotal in aligning security operations with KCNSC’s mission, mitigating risks and reducing liabilities across the organization.

Prior to his civilian career, Shawn served more than a decade in the U.S. Marine Corps. He commanded a military police team during Operation Enduring Freedom, directing over 200 combat and training missions and completing worldwide assignments in Haiti, Afghanistan and Greece. This operational background informs his strategic approach to modern national‑security challenges.

In addition to professional responsibilities, Shawn co-chairs both the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee and the KC Tech Council Executive Roundtable. Shawn’s academic degrees include a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Business Administration from Baker University and a Master of Science in management, strategy and leadership from Michigan State University.
